On one level, my work is about landscape; the way space affects us physically and emotionally, and how we leave our marks on the spaces we live in and move through.
On another level, my work is about loss; the loss of time, place, understanding, and self. However, the paintings do not dwell on the sorrow of loss, but instead, celebrate the choice to continue on after loss, the attempt to re-establish a norm, the willful decision to move forward in the hopes of finding or creating something new that will fill the space left behind when loss occurred.
